Role Description This partl-time Garden Assistant role at Bramble & Vine is an on-site position located in San Francisco, CA. The Garden Assistant supports daily garden operations, including planting, watering, pruning, weeding, mulching, and general landscape maintenance across garden beds, indoor plant care and outdoor areas. Responsibilities include monitoring plant health, identifying pests or diseases, and reporting issues to the lead gardener or garden manager. The role also involves maintaining tools and equipment, keeping work areas clean and safe, and assisting with seasonal projects such as soil preparation, composting, and installation of new plantings. The Garden Assistant collaborates with the team to ensure the garden is well-presented for visitors, events, and clients, and may occasionally support inventory tasks such as tracking supplies and materials. Qualifications Basic horticulture and plant care knowledge, including familiarity with common ornamental and edible plants. Experience with routine garden tasks such as planting, pruning, watering, weeding, and mulching. Ability to safely use and maintain hand tools and light garden equipment. Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining neat, well-organized garden spaces. Reliable time management and ability to follow schedules, instructions, and safety procedures. Collaborative mindset and clear communication skills for working with a small team and interacting with clients or visitors.
